It is -22 degrees Celsius here in Bathurst this morning. With an extremely cold and dangerous day yesterday, it is understandable that there was virtually no traffic yesterday on the trails. An arctic airmass will combine with strong northwest winds to give bitterly cold conditions. Windchill values of minus 40 to minus 47 are expected to develop...

   Update 8.30:  we have a groomer down on Trail 23 just down the line about three kilometers from the Nepisiguit  Lodge. It is Well marked. Plus there will be no grooming tonight due to dangerous temperatures.

       Good morning from Bathurst. It was another cool night for grooming the trails. With these temperatures as I mentioned in yesterday's post, will set up almost immediately upon grooming. Currently in Bathurst it is -28 C.

       Good morning from Bathurst. It was a typical Monday with not too much traffic on the trails. Ron had the three groomers out last night and we groomed Trail 19 from Bass River to the Atlantic host in Bathurst, Trail 23 through Nepisiguit to Rogers Lake and Red Pine Shelter, Trail 22...

       It was the busiest weekend so far this season. Ron had one groomer out last night. #1 and from Rogers Lake to Popple Depot on piston alley, then over the 503 to trail 19 and back to Rogers Lake.  With 10 cm of snow overnight, Ron will have the three groomers out later today.

    The three groomers were out again last night. The #1 groomed the Cal Loop ( Rogers Lake, Red Pine Shelter 507, 22, Nine Mile shelter, Rogers Lake) then Trail 22 to the 22/301 intersection and back to Rogers Lake. The #2 groomed from the Atlantic Host to the 19/23 intersection on Route 360 and...

Big Day yesterday:  The boys got er done from Bathurst and Bass River all the way to Popple and the 503. They were still on the trail until early this morning with a double run between Nepisiguit and Rogers Lake. Great negative temperatures really help with -18 here this morning. They'll be out again...

Update 1.45 pm: All three groomers are still on the move at post. They hit the trails at around 4:30 a.m. The #1 now on trail 22 North to the 22/301 intersection . It also did the five 508 and the 509 . The #2 just left the Nepisiguit Lodge towards East Bathurst and Bass River on trail 19. The #3 has completed...

Update 4 .50 PM.  It cleared right up. Sun is out. Received about 5 mm of rain.

Update 1.45PM: It is now raining in Bathurst as well as Nepisiguit. They are calling for up to 20 mm of rain. Oh the pain!!!!!!

Update 11.45 AM: About 20 cm down in Bathurst, but I'm sure much more at Nepisiguit and towards...
