Don't forget our last wings night sponsored by Bruce&Paula Crandall and Keith Daley. Tonight from 5 to 8 PM. Come on out and enjoy. Special invitation to anyone who wants to motor up to the Lodge.
Trails are in great shape for the last day in March. Temperatures for grooming are giving us the problem now. We only sent the groomers out early this morning. The# 1 went east on Trail 23 to Nine mile shelter, turn back to Rogers Lake then went west on Piston Alley to Popple Depot and back . The #2 went from Nepisiguit Lodge to the Atlantic Host and back. The #3 groomer went from Nepisiguit Lodge to Nine Mile Shelter and back to Nepisiguit. To summarize Trails from the Atlantic Host to Popple Depot Trails 19 & 23 fully groomed. Here is a message from my eyes on the trail. """Still lots of flat trails and snow in the Chaleur region. We were out sledding all day(Tuesday). You would think it was still February. All the trails we were on today were top notch. We also connected with three different groomers today on the trails keeping them top notch. We did about 140 miles with flat firm trails."""" Thanks Gary!!!!
Just a warning to all sledders; If you come upon a moose and it appears sick i.e. looks wobbly on its feet and has no instinct to move off the trail, then proceed with caution as these animals are probably infested with ticks. I was speaking with the forestry rangers yesterday and they have put down at least five moose and it is mainly in the yearlings or just a tad older . They say they could be very dangerous.
