We are still on the trails with grooming with all trails west of the Nepisiguit Lodge good to go. Yesterday, we groomed from East Bathurst to Nepisiguit, over to the Austin Brook Cluster 502, to Nine Mile Shelter and into Rogers Lake.
With our food order finally in the lodge will have the full standard menu from here in for the rest of the season. Try our big breakfast. Lodge opens every day at 10 AM. Even though we are open, we are still operating with minimum staff due to low traffic volume. Until we see trails opened up via Trail 52 from the Miramichi, Trail 19 from Bathurst and the Peninsula, and Trail 23 from the Tracadie area we will continue to operate as above. We are starting to see a bit of green on the NBFSC trail map https://nbfsc.evtrails.com and could use more snow in a lot of areas. Restigouche in the area of Campbellton over to Moose Valley plus the St Quentin area have all seen grooming. Great going as well in the Serpentine area and Christmas Mountains. Alyre at Serpentine is seeing good traffic.
A message of gratitude and appreciation from Todd in the Austin Brook Cluster on Trail 502: “””Gents, 502 was groomed beautifully. The young operator l ( not sure of his name) stopped us on our way out to advise to be careful at bridge cause he had to build a snow bridge. On our way back into the cluster the bridge was perfect and the trail was like a tabletop.(new piston alley). Thanks gents for all you do and wanted to note professionalism of young operator."""" The operator's name is Jacob Miller. Jacob fell in love with this job when he was still in high school and any chance he had, he went on the groomer with his grandfather, Bryan. As a few years passed Bryan would let him operate the groomer and to the point where he took over by himself, which was full time last year. He has turned out to be a responsible and reliable "man" on the groomer.
