Good morning from Bathurst. It was another cool night for grooming the trails. With these temperatures as I mentioned in yesterday's post, will set up almost immediately upon grooming. Currently in Bathurst it is -28° C.
Last night's grooming saw the# 1 Groomer out of Rogers Lake east on 23 to Nine Mile Shelter, turned onto 22 north to the 22/301 intersection , turned and back out to the 507 Red Pine Shelter and 23 back to Rogers Lake. All clusters were groomed as well by the #1. The # 2 saw Bryan from the Atlantic Host in Bathurst run Trail 19 to the highway 360 and back. The # 3 with Jacob did Trail 23 from Nine Mile Shelter to the highway 360 and back to Nepisiguit Lodge.
Wings Night tomorrow at the lodge. This weeks sponsors are RH Frenette and Blue Roof Distilleries. They have a door prize worth up to $1000 that we are selling tickets for. This is always a great outing. If you haven't been to one of these, why don't you try this one.
Safety message for the week. All too often you hear about the inexperienced rider having an accident. Most times the reason is speed, but the main reason is that the lead sled or sleds are running to fast for the inexperienced rider to keep up, subsequently they are riding to fast for their capableility, hence an accident. My advice to the people in the back is to let the lead sleds to slow down. Further advice to the lead sleds is to show some respect for the people behind. This would lead to a lot safer trip.
