Rain Was Another Killer

WELL, that rain didn’t help. We did not have any snow in the Bathurst area anyway, but we could have done without the 50 mm of rain. It just gives those dam beavers more places to roam. I spoke with Alyre at Serpentine this morning and what snow they had has greatly diminished, but he said there was a good base left and it was currently snowing there. He had 25 sledders in from Friday through Sunday and it was decent sledding out of Serpentine down to Smith Forks and over on the North Pole Trail. Trail 23 down to Popple Depot had no snow to begin with.

Dec 15 is fast approaching and the weather forecast looks pretty grim as far as snow is concerned. A good snow dance would be deemed appropriate at this time. We are pretty much guaranteed snow up here so we’ll just keep looking up. The lodge won’t be opening until we see snow and sledders.
