Update 9AM: Just a precaution for Trail 19 in the area where the trail crosses paved road on highway 430 near Blue Mountain Pit. St Isadore trucking ploughed the trail up for 0.7 Km to get into the gravel pit. Hopefully it will not be an issue as it is ploughed ditch to ditch. In the past they would leave us a little room on one side for such operations. Note: Groomers will be out tonight.
With close to 15 cm on Sunday night and another 10 cm overnight, this will add to the base and also give us more buffer against a mild spell. Both our running groomers got every trail in the system doubled groomed since yesterday morning. All the way from Atlantic Host west and Bass River East on Trail 19 up through Nepisiguit, Trail 23 to Popple Depot, Trail 22 from Nine Mile Shelter to the 22/301 intersection and all the local trails like the 503, 507, 501 , 500 and most trails into the clusters. I'm not sure at this time what we'll do with this 10 cm, but below these 10 cm, the trails are flat.
On another note it goes without saying that this sport is getting quite expensive with the cost of everything going through the roof. Especially on gas plus the grooming fuel. Gas hit $1.80/ L at self serve for regular octane and $2.00/ L for diesel. Our costs are more for Diesel and gas as our supplier delivers to Nepisiguit and Rogers Lake with a surcharge. Prices are going up like ten cents a day. Oh well, those poor oil companies still have to make their $5 billion profit every quarter.
