Good morning from Bathurst. The forecast coming for this week has been on the radar for the past few days, but looking back, it has always gave us a little twist. Hopefully with this forecast, which begins on Wednesday morning, gives us the snow that we can finally start grooming.
For Bathurst they're calling for up to 25 cm and up to 40 cm in the higher elevations such as Popple Depot and Serpentine. Then if we're looking long range, they're calling for more. At this point, we'll take all the snow we can get. LET'S GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD!!!!
There is a slight base on the trails going forward, but not really snowmoble ready. The warning still holds for the thin ice on the headpond, but with these cold past several days, I'm sure the ice has grown thicker. Still not advisable to cross.
At this point we have our groomers ready to roll, but I'm sure that they won't be out until after the snow has calmed down. We've waited almost a month for this, so another day or two is worth the wait.
