Tuesday Club #1
Well so far things look positive for a good dump here in the North. They are calling for 30 to 40 cm of what appears to be good grooming snow with temperatures minus 2 to 4 degrees depending on location. Ron will have his groomers ready to go on Wednesday morning if the weather isn't too wet. It will be a wait and see situation depending on road conditions and DTI getting the roads open to Nepisiguit and Rogers Lake. This will be the first major storm this winter. It will greatly help in areas where snow was lacking. ie. between Bathurst and Nepisiguit Lodge and I'm sure clubs around the province are thinking the same. There could be a problem with trees with what appears to be a very wet snow in some areas of New Brunswick, which could be devastating in areas where there are a lot of alders, white Birch and poplar.
Hopefully by Thursday afternoon we should see most of our major trails and connector trails groomed. It won't hurt to go out early and get some good deep snow sledding in and at the same time, you will be helping the groomers by taking the air out of the new snow. Make sure you don't go single as there is safety in numbers.
