Grooming Yesterday

We found another bad tire on the New Holland #3 groomer and we did have 1 spare so this unit will be down for a while. The #2 unit will therefore be restationed to the Nepisiguit Lodge and will groom out of there until the fix is done on the #3. Grooming last night saw the #2 groomer run from the Atlantic Host on Trail 19 then on Trail 23 to Nine Mile East Shelter and back to Nepisiguit Lodge. The #1 was out yesterday back up on Trail 23 to Popple Depot and up the 504 on another Park Groomer rescue on Trail 504. It hauled their groomer out as far as Governors and proceeded back to Rogers Lake. Remember folks of that old saying “Anytime is Train Time” and that is the case with grooming. Be aware that groomers can be around the next turn so please be careful and slow down around turns.

With Covid restrictions being relaxed we are seeing snowmobiling tourism getting back to some resemblance of past years. The hotels are really seeing an up-tick in business and snowmobilers are looking for accommodations. Bathurst has plenty of accommodations of which Atlantic Host, Danny’s Inn and the Quality Inn being accessible by snowmobile. Atlantic Host is accessible by Trail 19, Quality Inn by trail 501 and Danny’s by 304. There are two other hotels and they are the Comfort In and the Best Western, but with no trail access.
