All we can say is "WOW". Yesterday the traffic was on the extreme side to say the least. 80% of the traffic was from outside the area and 80% of those were from out of province. If you got acomodations, consider yourself lucky. Some places like the Quality Inn, Comfort Inn, and the Best Western could be an option. For those looking for a trail permit from outside the province Club #1 has locations for permits at our Nepisiguit Lodge or at the Atlantic Host in Bathurst, or you can register on line at SNB. Remember to sign up with Club #1.
Grooming yesterday and last night seen the #1 groomer do the Cal Loop, all clusters and trail 22 out to the 22/301 intersection. The #2 did from Nepisiguit down to Bass River on Trail 19 and back to Nepisguit Lodge, then turned there and back to the Atlantic Host in Bathurst. It also did the Trail 500 into Riverside Drive towards the Bathurst Basin. This morning Ron is taking that groomer into the trail 501 down towards the Civic Center . The #3 groomer Big Blue did Trail 23 from Nepisiguit Lodge out to Nine Mile Shelter and back. Note that 95% of our grooming is always double groomed. At present we groom all main trails at least once every 2 days and some every day. Overall it is a great job done by Ron and his crew of operators Jacob Brian Mickey Francois and Steven. If you see the boys on the trail give them a wave as they deserve it.
On another note: The Neguac club did Trail 48 out through the Bonne route (to Trail 52 not sure about this yet) and I'm guessing not without issues. Also the Caraguet club is trying to break through to Bass River on the rail bed, again I'm sure with issues like downed trees. All clubs need COLDER temperatures to get their trails set.
