Sunday, Dec 5th, 2021, Club #1
This is just a brief summary on our Annual General Meeting for our snowmobile club. We had a very good turnout for meeting at the Nepisiguit Lodge with even members from Nova Scotia and PEI in attendance. We are in very good standing as far as our financials, groomers and overall well being with the club. As far as our membership is concerned we took a hit in numbers there as the Covid played a big part in that over the last season when our people from outside the province could not come to New Brunswick, but we did have an increase in our NB members, which still leaves us in good standing.
On the agenda was “New Blood” in the executive and other administrative functions with the club. We are in need of a Steering/Nominating committee for new people to take over the reins of the club, keeping in mind that the old exec will be there for any guidance. We have well over 1000 members and surely we have some of these to step forward and give their time so that we can keep Bathurst as the central hub for snowmobiling in the province. We need to have those people step up and stop asking “what have you done for me lately”. It is time to give something back to the community in which our club has played a significant role in tourism in this area. Our average age of the current exec. Is aprox 73 years. We are currently looking for about 10 to 15 people to fill all positions. Remember that many hand make less work.
